Infectious Disease Test Design, Development & Clinical Evaluation

Proprietary infectious disease target technologies have been incorporated into a range of real‐time in vitro amplification technologies, including PCR, and isothermal amplification technologies, including LAMP, and RPA technologies, for the detection of a wide range of important pathogenic organisms. Assays have been developed and clinically evaluated for a broad range of pathogenic microorganisms, including, among others: S.aureus, S.pneumoniae, M. tuberculosis, Group B Streptococcus (GBS), P.aeruginosa, L. monocytogenes, N.meningitidis,H.influenzae, K.pneumoniae, C. trachomatis, and N. gonorrhoeae, as well as a range of Staphylococcus, Salmonella, Streptococcus, Campylobacter, Mycobacterium, Candida, Aspergillus,and many other bacterial and fungal species. This research is being carried out in collaboration with clinical colleagues at Galway University Hospital (GUH).
