In parallel with biomimc development, glyco-engineering is ongoing for the evolution of new and novel enzymatic tools for the release of targeted glycan structures intact permitting whole glycan characterisation, and also as biological tools in the creation and control of glycan structures. Approaches utilised include computional design, enzymatic modelling, mutatgenesis and HTP screening approaches. A wide range of biological systems are utilised for the expression and presentation of enyme library panels. As well as enzymes, approaches for lectin stability and application are explored to enable greater application of these molecules within industrial and clinical applications.
