The NFB contributes to undergraduate taught courses such as:
- Biomedical Engineering
- Biomedical Production and Environmental Services: Bachelor in Science and Technology-Distance Learning Module
- Tissue Engineering
- Polymer Technology
- Introduction to Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanics, and Engineering in Society: Service Learning
These courses will provide an introduction to biomaterials, the relationships between materials characteristics and biological performance. The courses will be made available to all partner undergraduate students and serve as the pre-cursor to a summer undergraduate field experience.
Fourth Year Projects
The NFB supervises fourth year students in the laboratory to complete their final year research projects. Undergraduate students conduct research in the NFB laboratory and engage in weekly scientific interaction with international collaborators.
Scholarships are available through the Hardiman and Ryan Research Scholarships programme, the College Research Scholarships programme and BioInnovate Ireland.
